Kia ora koutou katoa
Now that the Government Coronavirus Alert Level has been moved to Level Four, the YouthLaw office is now completely closed. We are taking steps to enable our team to work remotely but will have extremely limited capacity until this work has been completed. As a result, we will not be taking on any new clients for now until further notice.
If you have already contacted us for advice, we will either be texting, emailing or calling you to let you know what is happening with our services and your case. We will endeavour to do one of the above between 25 March 2020 to 3 April 2020. If you are an existing client and need to email us documents, you can email us at nzyouthlaw@gmail.com.
If you need urgent advice during this period you can try to contact your local community law centre. However, we understand that other community law centres are also facing delays and disruption as they move to working remotely. The details for the community law centres around the country are available online at the www.communitylaw.org.nz website.
If a community law centre cannot help you, you can use the “find a lawyer or Organisation” tool on the New Zealand Law Society website https://www.lawsociety.org.nz/…/find-lawyer-and-organisation or call the national office on 04 472 7837. If you do this, it is likely that you will need to pay the lawyer for their services. For legal information, you can read up on your rights on our website” www.youthlaw.co.nz.
We sincerely apologise for this disruption to our services. However, these steps are necessary for us to follow Government directives and ensure that our staff, volunteers and community are safe.
Noho ora mai,
The YouthLaw Team.
