YouthLaw Aotearoa is a community law centre for children and young people under 25. We provide four main services to children and young people:
- Legal advice via our advice line.
- Legal information on our website and other resources.
- Education sessions for young people and those who work with them.
- Working to make law changes that will improve access to justice for children and young people.
We are also undertaking co-design projects with young people to place young people at the centre of our work and to make sure we are delivering our services in ways that best meet their needs.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is an exciting and diverse role responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operation of YouthLaw’s services. This includes financial management, administration support for YouthLaw’s Board, ensuring appropriate systems are in place to support YouthLaw’s operational goals, communication with external and internal stakeholders and volunteer development. The Operations Manager will also support the General Manager in relation to human resource management, funding applications and reporting, evaluation, and outreach.
This is a fantastic opportunity to use your financial, organisational and communication skills to make a real difference to children and young people in Aotearoa / New Zealand. You will be supported by an administration assistant and be part of a friendly and collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar operational management role and support the aims and objects of YouthLaw Aotearoa. They will also have strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, and be able to develop strong working relationships.
